9 Cloud Hands, Grasping Sparrow’s Tail & Push

*Notes: Shift your body accordingly from left to the right. Your feet will step left sideways to the west. Your arms will only change after each side is completed. Keep your upper body hollow and upright. Gaze at your hands at all times.

  • Turn your left foot and your upper body to the right facing the north. Gaze at your right hand and open it. Bring your right hand down and place it under the left hand (sweeping motion), then turn it over as holding the ball position. Let the left hand float down in front of the right hand. Raise the right hand up lined in front of your mouth. Lift your right foot and place it parallel to your left foot 10”-12” apart. (*Note – both feet are pointing north) [Mini Pause]
  • Then turn your upper body 45° to the right. Let the arms also turn with your body to the right. [Mini Pause]
  • Gaze at your left hand and flip it, then turn your right palm down as holding the ball position. Let the right hand float down in front of the left hand. Raise the left hand up lined in front of your mouth. Lift your left ankle and step sideways to the left parallel about 24” apart from the right foot. Shift your body to the left then adjust onto your left leg balance. Then allow your upper body to turn 45° to the left. Meanwhile the arms are also turning with your body to the left. [Mini Pause]
  • Gaze at your right hand and flip it, then turn your left palm down as holding the ball position. Let the left hand float down in front of the right hand. Raise the right hand up lined in front of your mouth. Lift your right ankle lift your right foot and place it parallel to your left foot 10”-12” apart. Shift your body to the right then adjust onto your right leg balance. Then allow your upper body to turn 45° to the right. Meanwhile the arms are also turning with your body to the right.   • Gaze at your left hand and flip it, then turn your right palm down as holding the ball position. Let the right hand float down in front of the left hand. Raise the left hand up lined in front of your mouth. Lift your left ankle and step sideways to the left parallel about 24” apart from the right foot. Shift your body to the left then adjust onto your left leg balance. Then allow your upper body to turn 45° to the left. Meanwhile the arms are also turning with your body to the left. [Mini Pause]
  • Gaze at your right hand and flip it, then turn your left palm down as holding the ball position. Let the left hand float down in front of the right hand. Raise the right hand up lined in front of your mouth. Lift your right ankle lift your right foot and place it parallel to your left foot 10”-12” apart.   • Gaze at your right hand and flip it, then turn your left palm down as holding the ball position. Let the left hand float down in front of the right hand. Raise the right hand up lined in front of your mouth. Lift your right ankle lift your right foot and place it parallel to your left foot 10”-12” apart. Shift your body to the right then adjust onto your right leg balance. Then allow your upper body to turn 45° to the right. Meanwhile the arms are also turning with your body to the right.   • Gaze at your left hand and flip it, then turn your right palm down as holding the ball position. Let the right hand float down in front of the left hand. Raise the left hand up lined in front of your mouth. Lift your left ankle and step sideways to the left parallel about 24” apart from the right foot. Shift your body to the left then adjust onto your left leg balance. Then allow your upper body to turn 45° to the left. Meanwhile the arms are also turning with your body to the left. [Mini Pause]
  • Gaze at your right hand and flip it, then turn your left palm down as holding the ball position. Let the left hand float down in front of the right hand. Raise the right hand up lined in front of your mouth. Lift your right ankle lift your right foot and place it parallel to your left foot 10”-12” apart. Shift your body to the right then adjust onto your right leg balance. Then allow your upper body to turn 45° to the right. Meanwhile the arms are also turning with your body to the right and this time your left hand rises up to chest level with the palm facing down.[Mini Pause]
  • (Grasp Sparrow’s Tail & Push) Gaze at your right hand and lightly clinch your right fingertips together. Gaze at your left hand and raise the fingers pointing upward. Look left turning your head (west). Lift your left heel and pivot your left knee west. Slide the left foot southwest and step west into open stance. Shift your body to your middle stance; square your hips (west) with your left palm also facing west. Then shift your body forward over your left leg.
